Tour Itinerary

Day 01. Agra to Dholpur 

Pick up from Agra hotel at 08:00 am transfer to Dholpur (01:15 hr.). Enjoy 02 hours boat safari for crocodiles & Gharials, birding. Good place to see river turn. Drive to Gwalior (01:30 hrs.) Check in hotel. Sightseeing of Gwalior. Overnight stay in Gwalior hotel.

Day 02. Gwalior – Datia- Jhansi- Orchha.

After breakfast drive to Orchha enroute visiting Datia Fort & Jhansi fort. O/n Orchha hotel.

Datia Fort / Palace: This palace was built by founder of Datia state Maharaj Bir Singh deo. He built around 52 palaces all over India, but this is the best. This palace is with seven floor & located on an isolated rock. Historian Abdul Hamid Lahori came to this city with Shah Jahan in 1635 & was too much impressed by the palace. This palace represents the combination of Mughal & Rajputana architecture. About 35 lakhs rupees (35,00,000/) were spent on it & took 09 years to complete. It is said that once Maharaja Bir Singh deo went to Mathura I 1614 AD, where he got himself weighed in gold & later, he started building this fort. Lord hasting, British Governor General stayed in the fort in the year 1818 and in 1902, an event to welcome Lord Curzon, the viceroy was held here.

Jhansi Fort: Ruler of kingdom of Orchha & Bundela Rajput Veer sing Ju deo built this fort in 1613. This fort haslimited face value before 1857. This fort on hilly area is typical example of North Indian style for defence purpose. This fort has many gates. famous gates are Khanderao Gate, Datia Darwaja, Laxmi gate, Jharna gate, Unnao gate, Sagar gate, Sainyar gate, Orchha gate & Chand gate. Important sites are Shiva temple, Ganesh temple at the entrance & Kadak Bijli cannon used in the uprising of 1857 Rani Laxmi bai, one of the greatest warriors against British, jumped from the fort on horseback is mentioned in Indian history. After visiting these forts, we drive to Orchha (20 kms). Overnight stay in Orchha hotel.

Day 03. Orchha

After breakfast start for Orchha Fort complex covering Jahangir palace, Raja mahal, Rai Praveen mahal, Sheesh mahal & Cenotaphs. Later drive to Khajuraho (03 hrs). Overnight stay in Khajuraho hotel.

Day 04. Khajuraho

After breakfast Sightseeing of Western & Eastern group of temples. Later transfer to rail station or airport.

Or

After lunch take afternoon safari in Panna national park (30 minutes). After safari drop to Jhansi rails station to take train to Delhi or Varanasi.
