Tour Itinerary

Day 01. Arrive Gwalior by Air or train & transfer to the hotel.

Afternoon sightseeing time permitting. Relax. Overnight stay Hotel

Day 02. Gwalior Tour

Gwalior sightseeing includes Gwalior Fort built by Raja Maan Singh Tomar in 08’th century. This fort is built on steep hillock called Gopachal. Gurjari Mahal & Man Mandir are places of attraction inside the fort. Gurjari Mahal was Bulit by Raja Maan Singh for his Gurjari wife Mrigyanayni. Later this was changed to museum with Jains & Hindus artifacts. Man, mandir was too built by Raja Maan Singh with wonderful art works on its wall. Other attracting places inside the fort are Hathi Pól, Sas bahu Ka mandir, Teli ka mandir, Karna mahal, Vikram mahal & Garuda monument. Don’t miss magnificent Sikh temple built in memory of sixth Sikh guru Sri Guru Hargobind sahib. Overnight stay Hotel

Day 03. Gwalior – Datia- Jhansi- Chanderi.

After breakfast we move to our next destination Chanderi. Enroute visit Datia Fort & Jhansi Fort.

Datia Fort / Palace:

This palace was built by founder of Datia state Maharaj Bir Singh deo. He built around 52 palaces all over India, but this is the best. This palace is with seven floor & located on an isolated rock. Historian Abdul Hamid Lahori came to this city with Shah Jahan in 1635 & was too much impressed by the palace. This palace represents the combination of Mughal & Rajputana architecture. About 35 lakhs rupees (35,00,000/) were spent on it & took 09 years to complete. It is said that once Maharaja Bir Singh deo went to Mathura I 1614 AD, where he got himself weighed in gold & later, he started building this fort. Lord hasting, British Governor General stayed in the fort in the year 1818 and in 1902, an event to welcome Lord Curzon, the viceroy was held here.

Jhansi Fort:

Ruler of kingdom of Orchha & Bundela Rajput Veer sing Ju deo built this fort in 1613. This fort has limited face value before 1857. This fort on hilly area is typical example of North Indian style for defence purpose. This fort has many gates. famous gates are Khanderao Gate, Datia Darwaja, Laxmi gate, Jharna gate, Unnao gate, Sagar gate, Sainyar gate, Orchha gate & Chand gate. Important sites are Shiva temple, Ganesh temple at the entrance & Kadak Bijli cannon used in the uprising of 1857. Rani Laxmi bai, one of the greatest warriors against British, jumped from the fort on horseback is mentioned in Indian history. After visiting these forts, we drive to Orchha (20 kms). Day 04. Orchha – Khajuraho.

After breakfast start for Orchha Fort complex covering Jahangir palace, Raja mahal, Rai Praveen mahal, Sheesh mahal & Cenotaphs. Later drive to Khajuraho (03 hrs). Overnight stay Khajuraho hotel.

Day 06. Khajuraho

This day visit Western (sensational temples) & Eastern group of temples in beautiful place Khajuraho. Afternoon you can visit Panna National Park or Relax. Overnight stay Khajuraho Hotel.

Day 07. Khajuraho – Chanderi (225 kms)

After breakfast drive to Chanderi (06 hrs). Overnight stay Chanderi hotel.

Day 08. Chanderi

Enjoy this historic & peaceful small town. Sightseeing of Chanderi fort, Koshak Mahal, Chanderi museum, Khandagiri (Jain site), Shehzadi ka Roza, Badal Mahal, Kati Ghati, Jama Masjid & Raja rani mahal. Beside historic value this place is famous for handmade sarees. Overnight stay Chanderi hotel.

Day 09. Chanderi -Sanchi (162 kms)

After breakfast drive to Sanchi (04 hrs). Enroute visiting Udaigiri caves famous for unique collection of sculptures carved on rocks from 04 & 05’ th AD. Later drive to Sanchi (30 minutes). Overnight stay Sanchi hotel.

Day 10. Sanchi- Ujjain (236 kms)

This morning after breakfast, visit Sanchi for most perfect & well-preserved Buddhist Stupas. The remains of Buddhists saint like Sariputra & Mahamodgilya are also preserved here. On annual Chetiyagiri Vihar festival, holly relics are displayed too which falls on last Sunday of each November. Later drive to Ujjain (05 hrs). Overnight stay Ujjain hotel.

Day 11. Ujjain Sightseeing

Ujjain is totally a religious destination & connected with history. Once being capitol of great ruler Vikramaditya. The Mahakaaleshwar Shiva temple is here. The Bhasamarti & Jalabhishek of Lord Mahakaleshwar is done every day before Sun rise between 04:00 am to 06:00 am. One has to make advance booking at least one month prior to visit. One has to go through strict checking & reach the temple at 02;30 am.

After breakfast visit Sandipani Muni Ashram where lord Krishna & Balram got education. From there we go to Mangal Nath Temple & Kal Bhairab Temple (you can offer liquor to Bhairab ji). At Ram Ghat of Shipra River one can take Dip. once in every 12 year this is the site of Kumbh mela. Post lunch visit Jantar Mantar (the Observatory) built by Maharaja Jai Singh II in 1725, which is equipped with 13 Architectural Astronomy Instruments. Visit Mahakaleshwar Temple, which is constructed for 1400 year by different ruling dynasties and influenced by Paramara, Chalukya and Maratha styles of architecture. The lingam at Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple is one among the twelve Jyotirlinga in the country.

In the evening visit Chintman Ganesh temple, built in 12 century. The Ganesh idol here is believed to be self-manifested. Overnight stay Ujjain hotel.

Day 12. Ujjain- Omkareshwar (140 kms)

After breakfast we drive to Omkareshwar (03 hrs). Omkareshwar is another important religious destination in Central India situated on bank of river Narmada. This place got its name from the Word OM, connected to Lord Shiva. One can do Jal Abhishek at Omkareshwar & enjoy boat ride in Narmada River. Other places of attractions are Siddhanath Temple, Zero Point, 24 Avatars group of Temples, Kajal Rani Cave and Gauri Siddhanath Temple Overnight stay Omkareshwar hotel.

Day 13. Omkareshwar – Maheshwar- Mandu. (106 kms)

Post breakfast we will drive to Maheshwar (01 :30 hrs.). we will visit Narmada Ghat, Maheshwar Fort, Ahilya Bai Fort and Palace, Maheshwar Museum, Shri Raj Rajeshwar Temple, Akhileshwar Temple & handloom weaving which produce a large number of Maheshwari saris and fabric Later drive to Mandu (01hr). O/ n hotel in Mandu.

Day 14. Mandu

Mandu an ancient fort city of Madhya Pradesh (Central India) is also known as Afghan architectural heritage. It surrounded by stone walls with many gates. All the buildings are I good conditions & impressive too. You need one whole day to visit the place. Important buildings include Jahaz Mahal, Hosang Shah’s tomb, Hindola mahal, Baz bahadur Palace, Jami Masjid, Rani Rupmati palace, Ashrafi Mahal, Rupmati pavilion, Lohani Caves, Rewa Kund, Darya Khan’s tomb, Taveli Mahal, Bagh Buddhist cave & etc. After sightseeing drive Indore (01 hrs). Overnight stay Indore Hotel.

Day 15. Indore Drop

Try some good street food in Indore / Sightseeing & later drop to Airport or Station.
